Wise Women Speak offers a unique 10-week speaking experience for women who want to express complex ideas, opinions and experiences about womanhood in English with the same confidence and nuance they have in their native language.

Why is there still such a stigma around periods? Why don't tampon or sanitary pad adverts show blood? Why are there so many euphemisms for periods and why don't people just call it a period?
How have you been affected by beauty standards throughout your life? Why are we constantly encouraged to make our bodies smaller? What is pretty privilege and have you experienced it?
Have you seen many women who look like you in positions of power, playing elite sports, in technological or scientific fields? Why is representation so important? Who is your biggest female role model and why?
Why are women being subject to discomfort, hatred, and extreme danger online? How is AI changing the face of this? What is a sex robot and how are they harming real women and girls?
Why is there so much pressure for women to get married? Why are we labelled as 'left on the shelf' if we stay single? Why is such a great deal of importance placed on romantic relationships?

Sessions will take place on either Tuesday evenings or Wednesday mornings (subject to participants' availability).
CET (UTC+01:00) or CEST (UTC+02:00) time zone, depending on the time of year - I live in a region where my time zone changes in spring/autumn.
You need at least a C1 level to be able to comfortably access the materials and vocabulary of this course.

Yes, you can pay for either the Wise Woman or Super Wise Woman option in two instalments.
Of course! They are for you to edit, print out, write on, and refer back to whenever you want. I only ask that you do not share them with people from outside the course. See Terms & Conditions for more information about this.

The session will be recorded and uploaded afterwards to a shared folder.
You are still more than welcome to join us for the live session!
However, the course is designed for you to do the exercises beforehand in order to elaborate on them in the session.
So, please bear in mind that this may affect your ability to give input when answering questions and getting involved in discussions.
